A Poole school endorses the MARS programme:
“The MARS Trust provide an outstanding solution for relationship education in schools through entertaining, fast paced, up to date discussion and activities.” Head of PSHE
The MARS team is beginning to work with an East Dorset school.
New year 8 material on Friendship and Relationships introduced in Poole school.
MARS Trust is now a registered charity number 1141794
Year 11 small group material has been put into two workbooks which were used successfully in March and April.
A local trust fund is giving the MARS Trust funding for the next year. This will enable MARS to employ someone part time to offer the programme to an increasing number of schools and to develop more sustainable materials.
Two more schools in Poole have requested the MARS programme for year 11 students. These courses will be run in the autumn term 2011. The local school that ran the year 11 material in March for the first time has asked for increased provision and the MARS programme for year 8 students will be run in the autumn term.
Another school has requested the MARS course. The course is starting in March 2011 and will be run over 4 weeks. This brings the total number of schools who have run the MARS course in East Dorset to six.
A Poole church has agreed to fund the MARS Trust for the next three years. This will enable MARS to employ someone part time to continue the schools work and coordinate local church involvement.
The trustees are delighted to welcome Neil Robertson to the MARS team. He is working as the Dorset schools coordinator.
